TIAC participates in Innovators Forum
Date Published: 18/04/2013

In February this year, the Innovation Centre of Western Australia (ICWA) in collaboration with the Department of Commerce, coordinated a forum to discuss the challenges of bringing a new product or service into commercial reality.

As part of the forum, Mr Andy Farrant, Mr Colin Beckett, Professor Barry Marshall , Professor Lyn Beazley, Professor Shaun Collin and Mr Brian Bradley attended the event. They met with past Innovator of the Year finalists and the Alumni from Curtin’s Ignition Program to share their experiences, knowledge and insights.

The event highlighted and prompted constructive discussions to:

  • Develop strategies that support greater business and State Government engagement with innovators
  • Improve the focus of support programs
  • Understand the mechanisms that prepare innovators to be investor ready

The discussion also provided an opportunity to exchange ideas and inform advice on how to assist innovators to commercialise opportunities delivering economic benefits for Western Australia.

ICWA is managed by the Department of Commerce’s Innovation and Commercialisation (I&C) Branch. For more information click here.
